A Circle of Strength: Honoring Survivors, Stories & Community

ree

The gathering was a luminous tribute to strength,  remembrance, and unity. Over 80 participants,  men,  women,  youth,  and children.  Two children moved the crowd with their original song and rap, honoring their mother's journey and memory. A male speaker shared his heartfelt perspective as a husband walking beside his wife through treatment. Both personal stories were full of emotions. More women received mammogram screening than last year. Reflect our growth.  Different vendors joined us this year, including two different black churches. Contributing gift bags for the survivors. Everyone enjoyed the donuts,  hamburgers, and hot dogs, and now the famous cowboy salad dip. We presented plaques to the women survivors.  And a special gift basket filled with goodies for the young lady who just had a mastectomy.  We presented her husband with a gift as well.  Overall, it was empowering space filled with love,  connection, and care.
