Washington Park | 23 Children Youth Mentored | Laughter, Learning, and Lifelong Memories
The BOYZ Brotherhood proudly hosted 23 children and youth, ages 3 to 16, for an unforgettab
le fishing adventure at Washington Park. With sunshine overhead and excitement, our young participants took part in a Fishing BINGO Scavenger Hunt, where laughter and learning went hand in hand.
Ms. Linda brought the fun with her interactive guidance and playful clues, keeping the energy
high and the competition lighthearted. Numerous winners walked away with prizes, including
bubbles, water guns, and LEGOs, fueling smiles and memories.
From stringing fishing poles to bravely baiting squiggly worms, many children experienced first-time moments of discovery. Teenage girls navigated tangled lines with humor and determination, transforming frustration into problem-solving opportunities—an actual LOL moment that showcased resilience and growth.
The event’s heart was powered by 10 incredible men who became mentors. These men handed out bait, helped string lines, and modeled patience, fishing safety, and positive relationships. Their presence created a safe and supportive space, nurturing each child's confidence, self-esteem, and life skills. Through every cast and cheer, the BOYZ Brotherhood proved the powerful impact of simply showing up. And what’s a great day without great food? Snow cones, pizza, and chips were definite crowd-pleasers. Yet, the most exciting part for many was the bus ride to the park, thanks to Dreamy Excursions, which made the journey just as enjoyable, with loud music, laughter, and dancing on the way.
